Malware is a broad term that means bad software. Viruses, spyware, adware, and rootkits are forms of malware. Each malware infection is unique. Certain infections or combinations of different infections are very difficult to resolve remotely.
It is a bad idea to allow junk software to remain on your computer. Not only can it compromise your security and privacy, but malware can be rough on the internal parts of a computer, causing unnecessary heat and wear.
- Basic Virus and Malware Removal – This service is for the removal of relatively minor malware infections when the time needed for removal and subsequent verification is less than 2 hours.
- Standard Virus and Malware Removal – Most malware and virus infections fall into this category. The time needed for removal and subsequent verification is usually 2 to 6 hours. Occasionally the time needed for complete cleanup runs beyond 6 hours. The price is not dependent on the exact time required for removal.
- Advanced Virus and Malware Removal – If it is determined by an initial assessment that your computer is extremely infected with malware and/or viruses, we will discuss possible courses of action.
If you believe your computer may be infected with any type of malware, call the help desk. If the virus, spyware, or other malware infecting your computer is not a good candidate for remote access removal, you will not be charged.
